At Greenalia we are seeking for DEVELOPMENT / PERMITTING MANAGER to join our green team 💚

 

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES 🛠

 

  • You will be responsible for development, supervision and drive of our renewable energy projects in the US. 
  • You will need to act independently to manage and advance complex projects and achieve development and permitting milestones from greenfield prospecting to construction-ready status.
  • You will need to possess an understanding of the permitting process (wind, solar, storage), interconnection, and market frameworks involved in ensuring successful projects. 
  • To be successful you will need to develop work scopes and proposals, help compile and draft permit applications, attend client meetings, interact with project design professionals, and mentor junior staff.
  • You will need to travel to project locations to meet with landowners, permitting officials, and local officials.
  • You will work hand-in-hand with our International Development Department, report back to our central office in Spain (Spanish is a must).


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 🧭

 

  1. Permitting: research all required permits for selected sites, coordinate with permitting consultants and attorneys to prepare and submit permit applications and other filings.
  2. Interconnection: coordinate with electrical engineering consultants and work with utilities and independent system operators to file interconnection applications, scope electrical interconnection studies and advance multiple projects through the process towards achieving signed interconnection agreements.
  3. Regulatory Processes: actively participate in regulatory processes and coordinate with regulatory team to stay abreast with market changes and regulatory concerns which could positively or negatively impact projects.
  4. Business Development: support team with development in the area.
  5. Internal Coordination: Interface with engineering, legal, finance, procurement, construction, energy marketing and executive team members to accurately define and mitigate project risks and provide concise updates on project status.


WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS 🦸

 

  • Excellent writing skills are a must along with the ability to edit and proof read finished work product prepared by others.
  • Must be a self-starter, resourceful, and have the ability to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously under strict deadlines.
  • 3 to 5 years of proven energy project permitting/development experience.
  • Knowledge of project development process and solar/wind/storage project budgets.
  • Ability to travel (Initially, possibly 1/2 days per week).
  • Project management including scoping projects, estimating costs, and creating schedule and budgets using management software such as excel, MS Project and Smartsheet.
  • Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)
  • Preferred, experience with GIS software.
  • Preferred, experience with land acquisition.
  • General knowledge of state level regulatory agencies and interest groups relevant to energy storage.
  • General knowledge of local and state-level permitting processes. 
  • Experience in Texas needed and additional experience in other states and ISOs a plus.
  • Spanish and English complete working fluency
